About The Position

The Medical Assistant provides patient care support by assisting patients and the medical oncologist, preparing paper or electronic charts for physician review, and communicating professionally and courteously with patients, clients, and staff. The role requires working autonomously with little instruction while managing multiple tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required.
• BLS CPR certification required.
• Ability to work autonomously with little instruction and manage multiple tasks.

Nice To Haves

• Two or more years of experience assisting in a clinic preferred.
• Oncology clinic experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Medical Oncologist with patient care when necessary or requested.
• Prepare charts for medical care.
• Make necessary arrangements for patients, particularly arrangements related to hospitalization.
• Handle phone calls professionally, courteously, and efficiently.
• File and scan records into patient charts in a timely manner.
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
