Medical Assistant - MA - Dermatology Clinic
About The Position
Sanford Health is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, adaptable, caring, and team-focused Medical Assistant to support nursing staff and providers in delivering high-quality patient care. The role functions within the administration’s pre-defined scope-of-practice guidelines applicable to the state where the employee works. The position is in a dermatology clinic with a small, team-oriented staff and offers the opportunity to build relationships with patients and providers and contribute to a positive care environment. The clinic is expanding into new space and works with dermatology and plastics providers. The role includes specialized onboarding and training for tasks within scope of practice. The work schedule is a flexible daytime schedule, with no nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call shifts. Educational assistance is available to support career advancement.
Requirements
- Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program.
- National certification or registration as a Medical Assistant through an accepted national certifying or registering organization.
- North Dakota-specific requirement: registration as an MAIII through the North Dakota Board of Nursing. If not held at hire, it must be obtained within four months; medication administration before obtaining MAIII registration must be supervised by a licensed nurse, and registration on the North Dakota Board of Nursing UAP Registry is also required if MAIII registration is not held at hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment, with recertification as required.
