The Overland Family Medicine clinic is now hiring for a team-oriented and efficient Medical Assistant! This MA position will be supporting a busy and established provider. The Overland clinic is a well established clinic with a loyal patient population and has been a part of the west Boise and east Meridian community for many years. The clinic boasts that they have great providers and a very positive and supportive team! From preventive screenings to chronic disease diagnosis and management, we provide access to quality healthcare services for all your families needs. This clinic is also a Patient-Centered Medical Home where patient treatment is coordinated through the primary care physician to ensure the patient receives the necessary care when and where they need it, in a manner they can understand.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required at hire.
  • MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies: American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA), American Medical Technologists (RMA), National Healthcare Association (CCMA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA), National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA), American Medical Certification Association (CMAC), National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA).
  • New Graduates: MA certificate of completion required from an accredited program or school.
  • New Graduates: Completion of either a 100-hour MA externship or 6 months MA experience in lieu of the externship hours even with MA certification.
  • Medical Assistant with Experience: 1 Year of MA experience OR Current MA Certification OR obtain or renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed above.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.
  • EMT and CNA certifications will not count towards an MA certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in family medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN, internal medicine, or urgent care
  • Highly dependable and reliable
  • Solid experience with immunizations and phlebotomy
  • Strong self-initiative and communication skills
  • Proactive and enjoy developing efficiencies
  • Willing to assist in all areas of the clinic

Responsibilities

  • Perform phlebotomy
  • Administer immunizations
  • Perform EKGs
  • Prep injections
  • Set up and assist with minor procedures
  • Complete POC and other tests
  • Complete tasks and orders in the task inbox
