About The Position

US Fertility is hiring a per diem Medical Assistant for Shady Grove Fertility in the Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. The position also floats to Beaumont, Clear Lake, Memorial City, Katy, and Spring/Woodlands, Texas. The schedule varies based on need. The Medical Assistant supports fertility patients and clinical teams through phlebotomy, specimen handling, clinical and procedural assistance, patient education and counseling, documentation, and administrative work. Requirements

Strong phlebotomy skills.

Responsibilities

Perform a high volume of phlebotomy.
Maintain supplies for blood-drawing stations.
Ensure laboratory specimens are sent to the proper laboratories.
Document patient care services using daily logs and patient records.
Enter laboratory information into the computer and print labels.
Assist physicians or ultrasound technicians with various procedures.
Assist with HSGs as needed.
Take vital signs and provide general clinical assistance.
Assist with the clinical care of fertility patients.
Provide patient and couple counseling and procedure teaching, and communicate physician orders and instructions.
Provide preoperative and postoperative education.
Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and their families.
Work independently to help ensure program goals are achieved.
Support and promote excellence in customer service.
Complete administrative tasks, including prior authorizations.
