About The Position

Spero Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support its mission of “Saving Lives, Instilling Hope and Restoring Relationships.” The position supports patients receiving counseling, case management, and medically assisted treatment as part of an integrated care team. The role travels between the Seymour, Tennessee location 2–3 days per week and the Lenoir City, Tennessee location 2–3 days per week.

Requirements

High school diploma required.
One to three years of experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role.
Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program.
Phlebotomy and laboratory experience.
Experience with injections.

Responsibilities

Schedule patient appointments.
Answer incoming calls and regularly check voicemail messages.
Check patients in and out and monitor patient flow.
Perform urine drug screens, take vital signs, and assist with patient evaluations.
Call in patient medication as directed by a physician.
Enter accurate patient information into the electronic health record.
Send prior authorizations to insurance companies.
Prepare the daily financial summary and balance payments received.
Collect cash payments and verify benefits.
Review the Prescription Monitoring Database.
Provide education and resource information regarding medication.
