Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Certification/Registration as a Medical Assistant.
• 1 year job related experience working in a clinical setting.
• Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to deal effectively with the public and other employees.

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• May require working during the weekends and after hours based on the needs of the department.

Responsibilities

• Measures and records vital signs and medical histories for patients.
• Obtains laboratory samples.
• Performs data entry of health records.
• Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms following patient examinations.
• Assists with patient appointments and answers phone calls.
• Ensures exam rooms are appropriately stocked with needed medical supplies.
• Secures patient information by completing and safeguarding medical records.
• Keeps patient information confidential.
• Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
• Driving for specimen delivery as a backup only.
