About The Position

Bethany Medical is seeking a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant to join its Mt. Airy clinic. The Medical Assistant works with providers and fellow staff members to support quality patient care and satisfaction. Duties include interviewing patients; measuring vital signs; performing phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, spirometry, and specimen collection; and recording information in patient charts and the electronic medical record. The role also includes preparing treatment rooms, educating patients, collecting and entering data, and completing ongoing competency and skills assessments. The posting describes the position as available full-time or part-time.

Requirements

• One of the following certifications is required, or must be obtained within six months of hire: CMA (verified through AAMA), RMA (verified through AMT), NCMA (verified through NCCT), or ABR-OE (verified through AAMA).

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of experience in Family Practice, Neurology, Pain Management, or Internal Medicine is preferred.
• Multilingual ability is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and measure vital signs, including pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height.
• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection.
• Administer injections and immunizations.
• Perform EKGs and spirometry.
• Record information in patient charts and collect and enter data into the EMR.
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations.
• Provide patient education.
• Work closely with providers and fellow staff members to support quality patient care and satisfaction.
• Complete ongoing competency and skills assessments.
