This position is responsible for assisting providers and the nursing team in the delivery of professional medical care within a Medical Oncology Clinic. Specific duties include pre-visit planning, rooming patients, obtaining vitals, utilizing the EMR system, scanning and downloading documents, telephone screening (with protocols), phlebotomy, assisting with procedures as needed, and other duties as assigned based on clinic needs. The incumbent must possess excellent customer service skills and maintain a professional demeanor at all times. For individuals without prior Medical Assistant experience or who have not completed an MA Program, the organization provides training and support. The Medical Assistant Program offers participants exposure to various Saint Luke’s Physician Group clinics. This 10-week paid program includes a comprehensive review of body systems, pharmacology, medical terminology, lab values, and BLS certification. Medical Assistants in training will also be introduced to Saint Luke’s culture, with a focus on customer service and patient safety. The program includes 10 weeks of paid training, with the next session starting on October 19. The schedule involves in-class didactic content for Weeks 1-5, clinicals with an instructor for Weeks 5-8, and home clinic orientation with a Success Coach for Weeks 9-10.
