About The Position

Dayton Gastroenterology is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join its clinic at 75 Sylvania Drive in Beavercreek, Ohio. The clinic provides care for digestive diseases and is powered by One GI®. The position follows a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no nights, weekends, or holidays. On-the-job training is available. A Medical Assistant certification is not required, though BLS certification is required or must be obtained within 90 days of employment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.
• BLS certification, or ability to obtain it within 90 days of employment.
• Previous Medical Assistant experience is a plus but is not required.
• Previous experience working in a medical office environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Measure patients’ vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, and document the information in patient charts.
• Collect specimens for laboratory analysis, as applicable.
• Obtain, verify, and record patients’ health histories.
• Assist the physician with office visits and in emergencies.
• Manage patient prescriptions as directed by the physician.
• Manage referrals as directed by the physician.
• Answer patient questions.
• Notify patients of test results.
• Assist with scheduling office visits, procedures, laboratory tests, X-rays, outpatient testing, hospital admissions, and appointments as necessary.
