Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a certified Medical Assistant program preferred
  • Proven experience in a clinical setting, particularly in gynecology or prenatal care
  • Knowledge of medical procedures, laboratory specimen collection, and sterilization techniques
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and scheduling software
  • Certification in CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in the medical field.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtained within designated timeframe.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in an outpatient clinic preferred.
  • Women's health, OB/GYN, or prenatal care experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of prenatal and women's health terminology and procedures.
  • Ability to obtain accurate patient histories and clinical information.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and compassion with patients and families.
  • Knowledge of infection prevention and safety practices.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record systems and basic computer applications.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to assist patients with mobility as needed.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient for clinical procedures and computer work.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to examination rooms and obtain vital signs
  • Perform patient intake and document chief complaints, health history updates, medications, allergies, and reasons for visits
  • Assist healthcare providers with routine gynecological examinations and prenatal visits
  • Prepare patients for pelvic exams, Pap smears, colposcopies, biopsies, IUD insertions/removals, and other office procedures
  • Collect laboratory specimens following clinic protocols
  • Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and supplies for patient visits and procedures
  • Clean, sterilize, and maintain medical instruments and equipment
  • Assist with patient monitoring during and after procedures
  • Schedule appointments, diagnostic testing, referrals, and follow-up visits
  • Verify insurance information and obtain necessary authorizations
  • Maintain Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and manage incoming calls
