About The Position
Northside Hospital is an award-winning, state-of-the-art, continually growing healthcare organization. The Medical Assistant provides nursing assistance and patient care to support patients’ comfort, safety, and personal needs. The role assists physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners in a medical office setting and performs patient care duties as part of a multidisciplinary patient care team, as delegated by a physician. Specific duties are determined by the supervising physician(s), clinical staff, and Practice Coordinator after competency is established.
Requirements
- One year of healthcare experience as a Medical Assistant.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
- Visual color acuity screening, depending on the role in specific units.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing assistance and patient care to support patients’ comfort, safety, and personal needs.
- Assist physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners in a medical office setting.
- Perform patient care duties within a multidisciplinary patient care team as delegated by a physician.
- Carry out specific duties assigned by supervising physician(s), clinical staff, and the Practice Coordinator after competency is established.
