About The Position

North Alabama Shoals Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is hiring a Medical Assistant for its cardiology practice. The role supports patient care through basic diagnostic procedures, specimen collection, monitoring patient condition, and documenting care. It also includes maintaining equipment, supplies, and examination areas, as well as administrative and clerical tasks. The position is full-time, day shift, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
• Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Nice To Haves

• CCMA, CMA, or RMA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic diagnostic procedures and collect specimens.
• Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
• Document patient care provided.
• Maintain equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
• Maintain examination areas.
• Perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
