About The Position

Abrazo Medical Group - Verrado in Buckeye is seeking a Medical Assistant for a medical office position. The role provides direct nursing care in a medical office under a physician’s direction, assists medical providers, and helps maintain a clean and safe environment in accordance with practice policies and procedures. Bilingual ability is preferred but not required. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is offered to new hires only.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited school, or three years of relevant work experience in a healthcare setting in lieu of the diploma.
CPR/BLS certification.
A Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited school, three years of relevant healthcare work experience in lieu of the diploma, or current Medical Assistant certification.

Responsibilities

Support the mission, purpose, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of Tenet Physician Resources.
Follow the Tenet HIPAA Compliance Plan and Privacy Standards Confidentiality Agreement.
Support the Tenet Corporate Compliance Program and comply with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and corporate policies.
Assist in assessing patient needs and health plans by taking vital signs, obtaining medical history and medication information, and determining the chief complaint.
Complete required documentation in patients’ medical records according to policy.
Prepare equipment and assist physicians with medical treatments, examinations, and procedures.
Administer prescribed oral medications and injections, perform venipunctures, and conduct lab testing.
Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment by cleaning, sterilizing and storing instruments, stocking rooms, and taking inventory.
Comply with established personal protective equipment requirements for protection against hazardous substances.
Arrange consultations and appointments, pre-certify surgeries and tests, answer phones, schedule appointments, direct calls, and assist with patient check-out and referrals.
