About The Position

The Medical Assistant supports physicians with in-office medical procedures and performs phlebotomy and laboratory-related duties, including testing, quality control, instrument troubleshooting, and maintenance. The role is based at the Sarasota Downtown II Office and requires a valid Florida driver’s license for travel to clinics.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; proof is required at the time of hire.
• Valid Florida driver’s license for travel to clinics.
• BLS certification is required upon hire or must be obtained within 30 days of employment; FCS will provide a BLS course within the first 30 days.
• New hires must pass a background screening and drug test and receive required vaccinations, including influenza, unless an exemption is approved.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of experience as a medical assistant in a clinic or physician’s office is preferred.
• Ability to perform venipunctures is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with medical procedures in the office.
• Perform phlebotomy and laboratory testing.
