Position Summary: We are seeking qualified candidates for the role of Medical Assistant at varying levels (I, II, III). The selected candidate will be placed at the appropriate level based on qualifications and experience. All levels contribute to patient care under the supervision of licensed medical professionals, with increasing responsibilities at higher levels.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program OR 1 year of directly related experience without certification
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association
  • Basic medical/nursing terminology
  • Computer proficiency

Nice To Haves

  • Certification/Registration as a Medical Assistant (MA II and MA III)
  • 5+ years of directly related experience (MA II)
  • 8+ years of directly related experience (MA III)
  • Experience in Ambulatory Care (MA III)
  • EPIC and Windows-based computer systems experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide supportive patient care functions for an assigned clinical area, under the supervision of a Physician, Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards.
  • Administer injectables and perform advanced clinical tasks (MA II and III).
  • Perform high-level clinical procedures (MA III).
  • Serve as a resource for less experienced staff (MA III).
  • Perform delegated tasks as directed by a physician or RN.
