About The Position

The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting the physician with patients by providing patient care according to established standards and practices. Deliver medical care services to patients in an efficient and professional manner. MA’s must have the capabilities to perform all aspects of typical MA duties, including front desk. MA’s are expected to proactively take initiative and serve as an informal leader with the responsibilities related to clinic functions. All Medical Assistants must display outstanding customer service skills and be able to adapt to working with a variety of individuals from the surrounding community. The primary job function is to provide high-quality care to our members while demonstrating the organization's core values.

  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant front office in a clinic setting.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies patient information by interviewing the patient, recording medical history, and confirming the reason for the visit.
  • Prepares patients for examination by taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature, and reporting patient history summary.
  • Performs on-site testing and procedures, per the physician’s order.
  • Secures patient information and maintains patient confidentiality by completing and safeguarding medical records and other patient information.
  • Accurately records patient information, measurement data, procedure documentation, and test results in the electronic medical record, securing the workstation when finished.
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  • Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
  • Participates in quality management program.
  • Performs Front Office procedures to schedule, check in, and process patients.
  • Performs Start of Day and End of Day procedures, as assigned.
  • Performs other tasks for which training has been provided, as assigned.
  • All other duties as assigned within scope.
