About The Position

Toledo Clinic's Advanced Pain Management Department is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant (Credentialed) to perform front desk MA duties along with some clinical duties in a fast paced office. The hours are Mon-Thurs (7:30-4:00) and Fri (7:30-1:00). This position requires the RMA, CMA or CCMA credential or the qualifications to obtain such credential within 60 days of hire. Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. Sign-On Bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA). For candidates that have not yet obtained or need to renew their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants/Certified Patient Care Techs will be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.

Requirements

• Excellent communication and organizational skills required.
• Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
• Registration or Certification as a Medical Assistant
• Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
• Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
• Medical Assisting Credential (ie: RMA or CMA)
• Adheres to all Toledo Clinic policies and procedures.
• Medical Assisting degree or diploma required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous clerical experience in a medical office.

Responsibilities

• Answering phones - courteously and professionally.
• Scheduling appointments, lab tests, surgeries, etc.
• Accurately enter patient information in to the electronic medical record.
• Verifying referrals and/or pre-certifications.
• Updating insurance information.
• Escorting patients to exam rooms.
• Preparing and maintaining exam rooms.
• Assisting physician with minor procedures.
• Preparing patients for physicians (vitals, histories, etc.).
• Answering patient questions at the request of the physician.
• Other duties as assigned.
