This is a full-time opening for a Medical Assistant for our Comprehensive Primary Care office located at Tesson Ferry and 270. The role involves performing back office functions, assisting providers in patient care, measuring vital signs, performing phlebotomy, documenting patient care in the electronic health record (NextGen), and coordinating care with the healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, formal training from an accredited Medical Assistant program, CPR Certification, PC/Windows proficiency, medical coding familiarity, and a willingness to prioritize patient comfort and satisfaction.

Requirements

The Medical Assistant is highly visible in their interactions with patients and must therefore project a positive office image at all times including smiling, greeting patients with enthusiasm, and maintaining an upbeat, positive attitude in all interactions with patients and coworkers.
Formal training which will probably be indicated by a graduation certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
CPR Certification.
PC/Windows proficiency.
Medical coding familiarity.
Willingness to assign high priority to patient comfort and satisfaction.
Ability to communicate effectively and to work compatibly with physicians, coworkers, and employees in other departments.

Responsibilities

Perform back office functions
Assist the provider in the interviewing, examination and treatment of patients
Measure vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height
Perform phlebotomy
Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the electronic health record (NextGen)
Coordinate care with other members of the healthcare team
