Medical Assistant - Primary Care
About The Position
The Medical Assistant position at Barry Road Primary Care Clinic is responsible for assisting providers and the nursing team in the delivery of professional medical care. This role involves supporting Physicians, Advance Practice Providers, Registered Nurses, and Community Health Workers with operational and clinical tasks. The Medical Assistant will ensure an excellent patient experience by managing patient flow, providing outstanding customer service, building rapport with patients, and maintaining a professional demeanor. The position may also require covering front office duties as needed.
Requirements
- Less than 1 year of applicable experience
- Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross certification
Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-visit planning
- Room patients
- Obtain vitals
- Utilize the EMR system
- Scan and download documents
- Administer injections
- Coordinate vaccines
- Telephone screening (with protocols)
- Phlebotomy
- Assist with procedures (as needed)
- Complete various administrative tasks as needed such as prior authorizations, RX refills, etc.
- Other duties as assigned based on respective clinic need
- Support Physicians, Advance Practice Providers, Registered Nurses and Community Health Workers with important operational and clinical tasks
- Provide an excellent patient experience by managing the flow of patients, providing excellent customer service, establishing rapport with patients and maintaining a professional demeanor
