About The Position

Avance Care is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant to support high-quality, compassionate patient care in its primary care network in North Carolina. The role works closely with providers, primarily supporting one provider, in a busy, fast-paced clinical environment. The position has 12-hour weekday shifts and a rotating weekend schedule. Benefits are available on the first of the month following 30 days of employment. Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screen.

Requirements

• At least one year of Medical Assistant experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity.
• Flexibility and resilience.
• Ability to work as an adaptable team player in a busy, fast-paced clinical environment.

Nice To Haves

• A CMA, CCMA, RMA, or EMT certification is preferred.
• A growth mindset.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from exam and treatment rooms.
• Triage patients as necessary.
• Administer vaccines and injections.
• Record patient data before the physician’s visit.
• Assist physicians with exams and a wide variety of procedures.
• Administer medications.
• Prepare and stock exam and treatment rooms, and order supplies as needed.
• Maintain proper disinfection protocols.
• Complete prior authorizations for medications and diagnostic imaging.
• Phone in prescriptions and distribute medications as ordered by the provider.
