About The Position

A Medical Assistant at Oak Street Health gathers medical information about patients so providers have accurate information when making healthcare decisions. Medical Assistants are important members of Care Teams and work closely with teammates to support an unmatched patient experience and clinical results. The role involves flexibility, energy, attention to detail, problem solving, relationship-building with members, and assisting in assessments through screenings and routine diagnostic testing during appointments. Medical Assistants report to the Practice Manager or Center Operations Specialist. The position is full time, with 40 anticipated weekly hours. The pay range is $18.50–$35.29 per hour. The position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission, or short-term incentive program, in addition to the listed base pay range. The opening’s anticipated application-window close date is 04/20/2027.

Responsibilities

Ensure efficient patient flow by rooming patients in a timely manner, completing vital signs and required screenings, and conducting medication reviews.
Inventory supplies and stock examination rooms.
Respond to patient requests for telephone support, such as providing lab results or faxing records to specialists.
As permitted by state regulations, administer vaccinations and perform point-of-care tests, including A1C, spirometry, EKGs, and blood draws for laboratory testing.
Import required documents into the electronic medical record through scanning or PDF upload.
Participate in care team meetings to discuss patient care and clinic operations.
Process orders for durable medical equipment.
Request medical records from external providers as required by the provider.
Conduct routine quality-control checks as required, including infection-control measures and checks for equipment and expired medications or supplies, and/or assist in maintaining the center laboratory.
Perform other duties as assigned.
