About The Position

We are an Endocrinology practice located in Wayne, NJ. We are part of Advocare a large physician organization. We are 1 MD , 1 partiime NP and 1 partime RD. We treat patients with a variety of Endocrinology issues such as obesity, type 1 and type 2 diabetes, thyroid disease, osteoporosis, and other hormonal disorders. We take immense pride in treating each patient with utmost care and attention.

Requirements

  • Medical Assistant Certification or Registration required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • One year of prior experience in a medical setting preferred
  • Understanding Microsoft Office
  • Firm grasp on medical practices, administrative processes, and organizational policies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in administrative tasks
  • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented; demonstrating leadership to maintain credibility
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and digital record systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively and verbalize ideas
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands and demonstrates the highest level of customer/client service and response
  • Demonstrates ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Providing high quality direct patient care and assisting providers and other clinical staff with patient care and other clinical and administrative duties in a professional manner.
  • Competently and skillfully perform all clinical and clerical functions including, but not limited to: vital signs, patient interview, electronic documentation, screening tools, lab/specimen prep, point of care collection and processing, filing, processing records, answering phones, verifying insurance, scheduling appointments and processing referrals.
  • Provide age-appropriate care in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the patient served.
  • Obtaining and recording patient medical histories, receiving, and directing phone calls, ensuring successful completion of all forms.
  • Maintaining medical supplies inventory and performing preventive maintenance to keep the medical equipment operating.
  • Preparing patients for examination by performing physical tests, take vitals, reporting patient history summary.
  • Preparing treatment rooms for clinical examinations.
  • Counseling patients by transmitting physician’s orders and questions about the treatment.
  • Delivering attention, compassionate support, and assistance to patients and families.
  • Ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulations including HIPPA, OSHA, etc.
  • Aiding staff, physicians, and other faculty as needed.
  • Performing additional job-related duties as assigned.
  • Lab call back.
  • Sending refills.
  • Phlebotomy and processing lab samples.
  • Helping physician scribe 1x a week.
