MEDICAL ASSISTANT/SPORTS MED - M-Th (8-5) & F (8-12:30)
About The Position
Toledo Clinic's Sports Medicine Department is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to provide both clerical and clinical support in a growing practice. Office locations in both Toledo and Maumee OH. This position will be scheduled Mon-Thurs (8-5) and Fri (8-12:30). Qualified Candidates will have a Medical Assisting Diploma/Certification along with an MA Credential (RMA, CMA, CCMA). Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. Sign-On Bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA/CPCT/A). For candidates that have not yet obtained or need to renew their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants will be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus. General Summary: Perform various clerical duties to support the operation of the office and as needed performs clinical duties Works under the supervision of the Office Manager.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and organizational skills required.
- Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
- Registration or Certification as a Medical Assistant.
- Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
- Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
- Medical Assisting Credential (ie: RMA or CMA)
- Adheres to all Toledo Clinic policies and procedures.
- Medical Assisting degree or diploma required or
Responsibilities
- Answering phones - courteously and professionally.
- Scheduling appointments, lab tests, surgeries, etc.
- Accurately enter patient information in to the electronic medical record.
- Verifying referrals and/or pre-authorizations.
- Updating insurance information.
- Checking in patients that arrive to the office
- Escorting patients to exam rooms.
- Preparing and maintaining exam rooms
- Assisting physician with minor procedures.
- Preparing patients for physicians (vitals, histories, etc.).
- Answering patient questions at the request of the physician.
- Other duties as assigned.
