The Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is now accepting applications for Medical Assistants for our outpatient clinics in Boise, Nampa, and Caldwell! By applying via this job posting your name will be on file for all Medical Assistant openings (both primary care and specialty clinics) in the Boise, Nampa, and Caldwell areas. Clinic locations and specialty areas vary based on current openings. If selected for an interview, you will be able to discuss your preferences for type of clinic (primary care or specialty), location, and work schedule with the interview team. As a Medical Assistant at Saint Alphonsus, you will work in a team environment to promote a positive experience in patient care with compassion and kindness. You will support licensed staff and provider(s) in providing an excellent patient experience by efficiently meeting the patient's needs. You also support efficient clinic flow and communicate accurately and positively with team members. You work under the supervision of the physician and/or Advanced Practice Provider. Clinical oversight is provided by the RN Supervisor, Lead Nurse and/or SAMG Nursing Administration. Our ideal candidate is personable, detail oriented, a quick learner and has a passion for providing a high-quality patient care. He or she will also need to utilize excellent communication skills while communicating with patients and families. The ability to be adaptable and flexible, provide compassionate care while utilizing independent decision making and critical thinking skills will be essential in this position. Work schedules will vary based on clinic needs, but are typically Monday - Friday, anywhere between 7am - 8am shift start time and 5pm - 6pm end time.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required at hire.
  • MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies: American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA), American Medical Technologists (RMA), National Healthcare Association (CCMA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA), National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA), American Medical Certification Association (CMAC), National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA).
  • New Graduates: 1) MA certificate of completion required from an accredited program or school. 2) Completion of either a 100-hour MA externship or 6 months MA experience in lieu of the externship hours even with MA certification.
  • Medical Assistant with Experience: 1 Year of MA experience OR Current MA Certification OR obtain or renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed above.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.
  • Obtaining the MA certification typically requires completing an MA Program or working as a Medical Assistant for at least 1 year.
  • EMT and CNA certifications will not count towards an MA certification.
