About The Position

Join The Oregon Clinic as a part-time (24 hours per week) Credentialed Medical Assistant or Non-Credentialed Medical Assistant at the Center for Advanced Surgery East Clinic in Northeast Portland. This role involves working with a collaborative team to provide patient-focused care and ensure patients receive high-value care tailored to their needs. The position emphasizes excellent customer service and communication skills to support medical staff, prepare patients for examination, assist with procedures, provide health education, manage prescriptions and appointments, obtain imaging, order labs, handle patient advice lines, process referrals, update records, and assist with overall patient care delivery.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year of previous experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
  • Certification through a national agency such as AAMA, NCCT, etc. is strongly preferred.
  • Medical Assistants must be certified within 90 days.
  • Current CPR/BLS within 60 days of hire.
  • Prior Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience with EPIC is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent attendance and work ethic.
  • Positive attitude and desire to be a team player.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians, and other team members.
  • A commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialty Care and Phlebotomy experience is a plus!
  • New GRADS, MA, and CNAs are Welcome to apply!
  • ACLS may be required by specialty.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the medical staff by collecting information, escorting patients to exam rooms, and preparing patients for examination.
  • Performing complex patient care associated with the specialty, including laser treatments, and assisting with procedures and tests.
  • Providing health education and routine information related to medical treatments, procedures, and data collection.
  • Utilizing EMR to process prescriptions, retrieve test results, and patient files.
  • Scheduling appointments for established patients as needed.
  • Obtaining needed imaging for physician review.
  • Ordering labs.
  • Facilitating prescriptions.
  • Coverage of patient advice line.
  • Processing Referrals to outside entities.
  • Updating records as needed.
  • Assisting with the overall delivery of patient care in the department.
  • Other duties as assigned.
