About The Position
The Medical Assistant II works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner, performing assigned duties to assist with patient care. The role includes all responsibilities of the Associate Medical Assistant (MA I) and requires full competency in the clinical needs and functions of the assigned clinic or work location. The Medical Assistant II is expected to follow established policies, procedures, and regulations. The position is with Covenant Medical Group, part of Providence, whose culture emphasizes patient-focused, whole-person care, understanding, commitment, mutual respect, and empowering caregivers.
Requirements
- Graduate of a school that includes hands-on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants; or graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program; or completion of two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces; or equivalent education or experience.
- At least 1 year of work experience in a role similar to a medical assistant, including obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration.
- At least 6 months of healthcare experience.
- At least 6 months of Medical Assistant experience.
- Obtain National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
