About The Position

Precision Healthcare Specialists is seeking a dependable and compassionate Part-Time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our colorectal specialty team. The CMA will work closely with physicians and clinical staff to provide high-quality patient care while assisting with the daily clinical operations of the practice. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, attention to detail, and a patient-centered approach. Experience in colorectal, general surgery, gastroenterology, or another specialty practice is preferred but not required.

Requirements

  • Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous medical assisting experience preferred.
  • Experience in a specialty, surgical, colorectal, gastroenterology, or similar clinical setting preferred.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required within the applicable timeframe.
  • Strong knowledge of basic clinical procedures and medical terminology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA regulations.
  • Professional, dependable, and team-oriented.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in colorectal, general surgery, gastroenterology, or another specialty practice is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for physician examinations and procedures.
  • Obtain and document patient vital signs, medical histories, medications, and other pertinent clinical information.
  • Assist physicians with examinations, minor procedures, and other in-office clinical needs.
  • Prepare and maintain examination rooms, equipment, and supplies.
  • Perform clinical tasks within the scope of training, certification, and applicable regulations.
  • Assist with specimen collection, labeling, handling, and appropriate processing.
  • Administer medications and injections as directed and within applicable guidelines.
  • Perform and document clinical procedures accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Assist with patient education and provide instructions regarding medications, procedures, preparation, and follow-up care.
  • Coordinate and assist with patient scheduling and follow-up appointments as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, patients, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate clinical supplies and notify appropriate personnel of supply needs.
  • Follow all infection control, safety, HIPAA, and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism at all times.
  • Provide compassionate, respectful, and professional patient care.
  • Assist with other clinical and administrative duties as assigned.
