About The Position
A ProMedica Medical Assistant is a key member of the patient-centric care delivery model in an office setting. The role communicates with patients and co-workers and collaborates with leadership to recommend changes that improve patient care. The Medical Assistant supports a safe patient experience from arrival at a ProMedica facility. Duties include gathering patient information, documenting reasons for visits, and obtaining vital signs, while striving for clinical excellence. The role also communicates with patients, peers, and the health care team, answers patient phone calls, and relays messages to providers or nurses. The summary describes the general nature and level of work and is not exhaustive.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- BLS (CPR): present a current American Heart Association BLS course card at the time of employment or obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a medical office.
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant.
