About The Position
Baptist Health is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant for the Baptist Primary Care – Brooklyn Family Medicine office in downtown Jacksonville, Florida. The role performs back-office medical assistant duties, including rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and assisting providers with patient care. The ideal candidate is dependable and team-oriented, has a positive attitude and strong communication skills, and contributes to a smooth and efficient clinical workflow. The position works Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, at BPC – Brooklyn, 532 Riverside Ave, Jacksonville, FL 32202.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of patient care experience.
- Experience in a physician's office.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Nice To Haves
- Associate of Arts or Science degree preferred.
- Certified Medical Assistant credential preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provides medical assistance to physicians.
- Obtains vital signs.
- Greets and chaperones patients during medical visits.
- Maintains medical documentation.
- Schedules care, treatment, and diagnostic tests per physician.
- Processes prescription requests and referrals.
- Rooms patients and assists providers with patient care.
