The Medical Assistant will adhere to the Medical Assistant scope of practice, follow all policies and procedures, and maintain training and competency based on the area of specialty when providing patient care. This role involves performing rooming/visit tasks such as vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings. The Medical Assistant will also assist providers with procedures, perform lab-related duties including venipuncture and specimen collection, and conduct Point of Care testing. Responsibilities include administering medications and vaccines safely, completing CLIA-approved waived laboratory tests, and performing other duties as assigned such as medication refills, insurance authorizations, and patient messaging. The position requires demonstrating effective communication, teamwork, and maintaining a clean work environment with appropriate stocking of supplies and equipment. There may be opportunities to assist with training, onboarding, or serving as a role champion. The Medical Assistant must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, understanding principles of growth and development.
