About The Position

The Medical Assistant works as part of a team to provide quality patient care and assist with the daily functions of the physician clinic. The role includes assisting patients, taking vital signs, entering information into the electronic medical record, maintaining and stocking clinic supplies and exam rooms, helping applicable patients with patient assistance programs, and cleaning surgical equipment. The employee may also perform clerical and other duties assigned by the Manager of Patient Care. Additional duties may be assigned, and leadership may alter or modify the duties of the position.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Completion of a Medical Assistant program, or at least 6 months of recent clinical experience as a Medical Assistant in lieu of formal education.
Mobility required.
Ability to work as part of a team to provide quality patient care.
Positive team attitude and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and appropriately with clients, families, providers, and coworkers.
Visual and auditory acuity necessary to monitor patients' conditions and operate department equipment.

Nice To Haves

RMA or CMA certification.
6 months of clinical experience.
Experience with an electronic medical record (EMR).

Responsibilities

Assist patients.

Communicate with patients, families, and customers using AIDET.
Work safely and promptly report hazards in the work environment or related to assigned responsibilities.
