About The Position

The Medical Assistant - Float travels to assigned outpatient practice locations throughout Philadelphia and surrounding counties to provide clinical coverage. The role receives patients at the time of their visit and supports providers and other clinical staff in delivering patient care by performing medically related tasks that help ensure smooth patient flow. The position includes reception, administrative and clerical support, and assistance with patient procedures. The Medical Assistant will also assist with training new clinical support staff.

Requirements

• Graduate from a medical assistant program.
• One year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Travel to assigned outpatient practice locations throughout Philadelphia and surrounding counties to provide clinical coverage.
• Receive, greet, and register patients.
• Complete forms and collect and enter patient demographic and billing information.
• Prepare charts and schedule appointments.
• Maintain the office filing system and update electronic medical records as appropriate.
• Collect payments in accordance with cash handling policies and procedures.
• Assist providers and other clinical staff with patient procedures and medically related tasks.
• Assist with training new clinical support staff.
