About The Position

The Medical Assistant supports the Cardiology unit at Cleveland Clinic West Palm Beach, collaborating with staff to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for patients, families, and visitors. The role assists with medication management, patient monitoring, and administrative work to support positive health outcomes. Caregivers work days, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with opportunities to develop skills, gain hands-on experience, and explore advanced positions at Cleveland Clinic.

Requirements

• Graduate from an approved medical assisting program.
• Military training as a hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W), or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered.
• Completion of a clinical externship or extensive clinical experience.
• Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within the new-hire period.
• Demonstrated current clinical proficiency.

Nice To Haves

• Medical Assisting certification (CMA, NCMA, or CCMA).
• Successful completion of a Cleveland Clinic Externship.
• EPIC experience.
• Outpatient experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with screenings and treatments by gathering and updating health-maintenance information, identifying medication changes, updating allergy information, collecting specimens, performing tests, and documenting patient care.
• Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
• Maintain equipment, medical supplies, and examination areas.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
• Follow standard precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.
