About The Position

The Medical Assistant supports patients and facilitates an exceptional care experience by welcoming and preparing patients for appointments, communicating relevant visit information, and explaining scheduled services. The role carries out clinical and administrative patient-care tasks in a clinical setting, supporting high-quality, connected care.

Requirements

Nationally certified or registered Medical Assistant credential required (NHA, AAMA, AMT, AMCA, NAHP, NCCT, or AAH).
Current BLS certification for healthcare providers required.
Phlebotomy experience required.
High school diploma or equivalency required.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience preferred.
Experience in primary care, family practice, internal medicine, urgent care, or an emergency room preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform point-of-care laboratory tests, EKGs as ordered or indicated, suture and staple removal, dressing changes, and other patient-care activities.
Collect and document vital signs, histories, and screenings.
Authorize prescription refills as directed.
Prepare patients, rooms, and supplies for visits or examinations.
Perform phlebotomy and process specimens correctly.
Clean and maintain treatment rooms and equipment.
Perform quality controls and equipment checks.
Participate in brand marketing by rotating throughout the vestibule and engaging patients to increase patient volume.
Prepare and administer oral, intramuscular, and intradermal medications as directed by the provider, following the Rights of Vaccine or Medication Administration.
Provide patients with instructions regarding medications and diet.
Carry out other duties as assigned.
