About The Position

QualDerm Partners is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our dynamic team in Westerville, OH. Our mission is to support patients’ lifetime wellness journeys with unmatched care across dermatology, skin cancer treatment, cosmetics, and plastic surgery. This role is ideal for Pre-Med students seeking direct, hands-on clinical experience working side-by-side with providers, offering exposure to patient exams, procedures, and surgical workflows. You will develop strong clinical documentation and patient communication skills, build meaningful patient care experience hours for applications, and receive mentorship from experienced healthcare professionals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred
  • Recent graduate or graduating senior on a pre-med or healthcare track
  • Strong interest in pursuing medical, PA, or healthcare professional school
  • Ability to work full-time for at least 1 year (gap year commitment preferred)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and practices relevant to dermatology
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with patients and staff effectively
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain patient confidentiality
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and general office software
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States in a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Work 1:1 with dermatology providers in a fast-paced clinical setting
  • Gain exposure to patient exams, procedures, and surgical workflows
  • Develop strong clinical documentation and patient communication skills
  • Build meaningful patient care experience hours for applications
  • Receive mentorship from experienced healthcare professionals
  • Prepare patients for exams, take histories (HPI), and assist providers during visits
  • Document patient encounters in the EMR in real time
  • Assist with procedures (biopsies, surgeries, injections, etc.)
  • Support patient flow and ensure a high-quality patient experience
  • Maintain exam rooms, sterilize instruments, and manage clinical supplies
  • Communicate with patients regarding results, follow-ups, and care plans
