The Medical Assistant will adhere to the Medical Assistant scope of practice, follow all policies and procedures, and maintain training and competency based on the area of specialty when providing patient care. This role involves performing rooming/visit tasks such as vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings. The Medical Assistant will also assist providers with or perform procedures, handle lab-related duties including venipuncture and specimen collection, and perform Point of Care testing. Additionally, the role includes administering medications and vaccines safely, completing CLIA-approved waived laboratory tests, and performing other duties as assigned such as medication refills, insurance authorizations, and patient messaging. The Medical Assistant is expected to demonstrate effective communication, teamwork, and maintain a clean and well-stocked work environment. This position requires the ability to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development over the life span.
