About The Position

Catholic Health Physician Practices is seeking a Medical Assistant for an OB/GYN practice. The role supports patient care and daily practice operations through a combination of clinical and administrative work, helping provide compassionate, clinically excellent service and a positive patient experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Graduation from a New York State-accredited Medical Assistant program.
• BCLS certification through in-person training from the American Heart Association.
• Strong clinical skills, including phlebotomy and aseptic technique.
• A team-first attitude and commitment to respectful, quality care.

Nice To Haves

• Current Medical Assistant certification, such as NHA, AMT, AAMA, or NCCT.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms by sanitizing and stocking supplies, and ensure medications and vaccines are ready for the day.
• Review upcoming appointments and identify gaps in care, including mammograms, colonoscopies, and immunizations.
• Escort patients to rooms and manage patient flow.
• Take and record vital signs, patient history, allergies, medications, and current concerns.
• Assist with procedures, including EKGs, Holter monitors, and in-office testing.
• Collect and process lab specimens, and track and document results.
• Perform quality control on equipment and testing materials.
• Help at the front desk as needed by greeting patients, answering phones, and verifying insurance.
• Collaborate with providers and the care team to support patient outcomes.
