About The Position

Medical Assistant (Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic) ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Will assist clients of our Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) by providing information, services, and assistance through various means. Including but not limited to securing medical records, maintaining medical supplies/inventory, and performing preventative maintenance to keep equipment operating. Verify patient information, record medical history, schedule appointments, report patient history, reason for visit, and capture vitals (including blood pressure, height, weight, temperature). Explain procedures to patients, prepare patients for examination, and assist during examination as needed. Administrative duties may include answering multi-line telephones, greeting patients, updating files and forms, medical record keeping, insurance verification, handling correspondence between patients and providers, and other misc. front office/admin responsibilities. Compliance with all company trainings, policies, and procedures. Additional responsibilities as delegated.

Requirements

  • Completion of accredited Arizona Medical Assistant Coursework - Required
  • Valid Medical Assistant Certification in the state of Arizona - Required
  • 4 years of work force experience - Required
  • Current CPR, AED, First Aid certification - Required
  • GED or High School equivalent – Required
  • 21 years of age or older – Required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Software especially 365 platform
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills
