About The Position
The Medical Assistant provides care to patients with acute and chronic needs in an ambulatory OBGYN clinic setting at Intermountain Medical Center. Under the direction of a clinician, the Medical Assistant assists the provider in gathering information relevant to the patient's visit and condition. The role includes communicating with patients by telephone and in person, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and following through carefully to support patient care. The position is full-time, scheduled for 40 hours per week, with clinic hours Monday through Friday.
Requirements
- Provide proof of completion of a Medical Assistant program, or have at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience, or hold a current active RN or LPN license in good standing to practice nursing in Utah.
- Have a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers before the start date.
- Demonstrate basic computer skills, including word processing and data entry.
- Maintain a professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Be able to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver a high level of customer and patient satisfaction.
- Protect patient, member, and caregiver privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI).
Nice To Haves
- Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting.
- Computer literacy using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other relevant software.
- Current national Medical Assistant certification or registration: RMA from AMT, NCMA, CCMA, or CMA from AAMA.
