About The Position

The Medical Assistant supports a busy OBGYN office with multiple providers and additional clinical staff. Under the direction of the Supervisor, the role performs selected clinical functions to enhance patient care, including preparing patients for examinations, obtaining specimens, conducting selected routine laboratory and diagnostic tests, and recording results. The Medical Assistant may also perform phlebotomy and, under the general supervision of a physician, administer selected medications and injections. The position also includes clerical duties related to clinic operations. The role is based at 932 Lake Street in Oak Park and requires travel to Elmhurst and other locations. Hours vary Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., with occasional Saturday mornings until noon. Flexible hours may be needed to meet operational needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Flexible hours to meet operational needs and ability to travel to other locations are required.

Nice To Haves

For certified or registered medical assistants (CMA, RMA, or CCMA), current certification or registration through AAMA, ARMA, NHA, or another certifying agency and at least six months of clinical experience are preferred.
For candidates who are not certified or registered, at least one year of clinical experience is preferred.

Responsibilities
