About The Position
West Coast Wound and Skin Care is seeking a dedicated and reliable Medical Assistant to join its field-based wound care team. The role involves traveling to patient homes and care facilities within the San Fernando Valley area to deliver hands-on clinical support under the direction of supervising providers. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, clinically competent, and passionate about providing high-quality patient care in a mobile setting.
Requirements
- Valid Medical Assistant (MA) certification.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while following clinical protocols.
- Basic computer proficiency for electronic documentation.
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation.
Nice To Haves
- 1–2 years of clinical or medical experience preferred.
- Experience in home health, mobile healthcare, or field-based roles is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Perform delegated clinical tasks and patient care duties in a field-based setting.
- Prepare patients for procedures and assist providers during visits.
- Scribe for physicians and accurately document clinical findings.
- Perform chart checks to monitor and evaluate patient progress.
- Coordinate and assist with patient scheduling and visits.
- Conduct initial assessment calls with new patients.
- Order and manage medical supplies and equipment inventory.
- Follow infection control, safety, and patient privacy standards.
- Communicate with providers, nurses, and administrative staff to support continuity of care.
