About The Position

Looking for a CERTIFIED medical assistant who is outgoing, friendly and has ambition! If this sounds like you, send us your resume, lets talk! We are a TEAM that works together. As a certified medical assistant, you will provide general medical care under the direction of a licensed provider to patients in our urgent care. Our location is open 7 days a week from 8am to 8pm. You must be willing to work some weekends and/or evenings. This position works directly with a franchised business location. The specific job duties and benefits can vary between franchises.

Requirements

• Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

• AMT registered and AAMA Certified Medical Assistants are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam
• Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients
• Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure
• Draw blood and preparation labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing
• Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions
• Respond to all lab messages and call back requests
• Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations
• Ensure patient immunizations are well documented and administered in accordance with the approved procedure
• Conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as-needed basis
• Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
