About The Position

Tampa Bay Hearing & Balance Center, a division of ENT and Allergy Associates of Florida, is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for a full-time position. The practice offers comprehensive ENT medical and surgical care. Patient care is a top priority, providing diagnosis and rehabilitative services. This role is ideal for a seasoned Medical Assistant comfortable with in-office procedures, medical terminology, multitasking, and handling a high volume of patients. The candidate should be a self-starter willing to learn all aspects of the ENT, Allergy, and Audiology field.

Requirements

• Minimum one-year HANDS ON Medical Assistant experience
• Current with certification
• Comfortable assisting with surgical procedures
• Working knowledge of medical terminology
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a clear speaking voice
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills
• The ability to interact professionally at all times with patients, physicians, and team members
• EMR experience
• Strong computer literacy

Nice To Haves

• Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus

Responsibilities

• Answering patient calls
• Taking vitals
• Obtaining authorizations
• Scheduling diagnostic tests and surgery
• Preparing exam rooms
• Assisting the physician in exam rooms for procedures as needed (ie: wax removal, biopsies, surgical procedures, etc.)
• Obtaining proper consent and ensuring proper scope of practice is followed
• Calling in prescriptions
• Cleaning and sterilizing instruments in accordance with CDC and ENTAAF guidelines
• Provide briefing of each patient prior to physician entering the exam room
