About The Position

Hartford HealthCare Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide basic clinical and clerical support in the delivery of patient care within the Medical Assistant scope of education. The Medical Assistant experiences continued training of all aspects of the Medical Assistant role. Requirements

  • Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic or Medic Certification OR at least one year of experience in direct patient care (acute or ambulatory space).
  • Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • All required credentials to be maintained throughout employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant experience or MA externship in a busy medical office preferred.
  • EPIC EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides basic clinical and clerical support in the delivery of patient care within the Medical Assistant scope of education.
  • Experiences continued training of all aspects of the Medical Assistant role.
  • Takes vitals, outside medication reconciliation, outside allergy reconciliation, screenings, patient history and virtual health.
  • Conducts point of care testing including quality control and documentation.
  • Assists providers with in-house procedures as needed.
  • Provides administrative support including scheduling, chart prep, referrals, check in/out, prior authorizations and transportation facilitation.
  • Floats to other offices based on business needs.
