The Medical Assistant will adhere to the Medical Assistant scope of practice, follow all policies and procedures, and maintain training and competency based on area of specialty when providing patient care. This role involves performing rooming/visit tasks such as vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings. The Medical Assistant will also assist providers with procedures, perform lab-related duties including venipuncture and specimen handling, and conduct Point of Care testing. Responsibilities include administering medications and vaccines safely, completing CLIA-approved waived laboratory tests, and performing other duties such as medication refills, insurance authorizations, and patient messaging. The Medical Assistant will be cross-trained for duties relevant to specialty or clinic practice, demonstrate effective communication and teamwork, and maintain a clean and well-stocked work environment. This role requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care and demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles.
