About The Position

Bulfinch Temps is currently hiring Medical Assistants for long-term temporary assignments in ambulatory practices at MGH. These roles are Monday-Friday, day shift, 40 hours per week. Availability is required for Boston area sites, including north and west locations. Please note that these roles are not benefits-eligible. Pay starts at $21.00 per hour and increases based on years of experience. These are long-term, ongoing roles, and candidates must be available for more than just the summer.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required
• Direct MA experience or medical field work 0-1 year preferred
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in complex and busy environment.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Comply with all local, state and federal privacy and confidentiality rules and regulations.
• Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Managing one's own time and the time of others.

Responsibilities

• Directs patient to exam room, obtains and records accurate routine patient vital signs, prepares patient for examination, and assists performing procedures, injections and other treatments as ordered by provider.
• Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.
• Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.
• Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.
• Perform general office duties, such as answering telephones, taking dictation, or completing insurance forms.
• Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat, clean and supplies stocked.
• Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
