About The Position

This is a benefited full-time position scheduled for 72 hours every two weeks. The shift is 12 hours, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., on varied days each week. Weekend and holiday availability is required. The position is located in Rancho Bernardo. Urgent Care is a clinic location providing a variety of acute care experiences. We have a wonderful team of providers and clinical staff who support each other in taking the best possible care of our patients.

Requirements

Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman
BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Nice To Haves

One year of experience as an MA in an outpatient setting
Previous experience working in acute care setting, Urgent Care, Pediatric and/or Family Practice setting

Responsibilities

Providing assistance with splinting, EKGs, POC, patient transport and patient care.
Facilitates patient throughput and flow, ensuring timely turnover of rooms, quality measures and increased patient safety and satisfaction.
Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures
Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practice
Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
Collecting patient data in person and by phone
Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
Administering medications specifically directed by the physician
