About The Position

Join Cleveland Clinic Elyria Family Health Center as a Medical Assistant in the OB/GYN ambulatory operations department. You will collaborate with fellow staff to create a welcoming, comfortable environment for patients, families and visitors. The role supports patient care through medication management, patient monitoring, administrative tasks and other activities that help ensure positive health outcomes. This is a full-time position with a schedule between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Requirements

• Graduate from an approved Medical Assisting Program, as designated by the Enterprise MA Steering Committee.
• Complete a clinical externship; extensive clinical experience may be considered in lieu of a formal clinical externship.
• Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within the new-hire period.
• Demonstrate current clinical proficiency.
• Military training as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered.

Nice To Haves

• Medical Assisting Certification.
• Successful completion of a Cleveland Clinic Externship.

Responsibilities

• Assist with screenings and treatments by gathering and updating health-maintenance information, identifying medication changes, updating allergy information, collecting specimens, performing tests and documenting patient care.
• Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
• Maintain equipment, medical supplies and examination areas.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry and patient registration.
