About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant (CMA) for an adult outpatient clinic specializing in Endocrine & Internal Medicine. The role involves direct patient care, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, collecting specimens, performing basic laboratory tests, and handling office duties such as pharmacy calls and stocking supplies. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a clinic setting, be proficient in aseptic technique, and possess excellent communication skills for follow-up calls and rooming patients. This is a full-time position with a standard Monday-Friday schedule, and the clinic is closed on major holidays.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • Experience in an Adult Outpatient Clinic.
  • Experience in Endocrine & Internal Medicine specialties.
  • Proficiency in taking vital signs (Height/Weight, EKG/ECG, Pulse Oximetry).
  • Ability to record patient history, medications, and allergies.
  • Experience with specimen collection and labeling (Urine - UA/Clean Catch).
  • Experience with basic laboratory tests (Blood Glucose via Glucometer, Urine Dipstick/Urinalysis).
  • Experience with office duties including pharmacy calls/patient refill requests and stocking supplies.
  • Knowledge of Aseptic Technique.
  • Ability to make follow-up phone calls.
  • Experience in rooming patients.
  • BLS certification.
  • CMA certification.
  • Must bring own stethoscope.

Responsibilities

  • Take vital signs including height/weight.
  • Obtain 12-lead EKG/ECG and pulse oximetry.
  • Record patient history, medications, and allergies.
  • Collect and label specimens, including urine (UA/Clean Catch).
  • Perform laboratory tests such as blood glucose via glucometer and urine dipstick/urinalysis.
  • Handle pharmacy calls and patient refill requests.
  • Stock clinic supplies.
  • Apply aseptic technique.
  • Make follow-up phone calls to patients.
  • Room patients for examinations.
  • Perform Point of Care testing.
