Medical Assistant - Per Diem
About The Position
Shriners Children’s is seeking a Medical Assistant to support medical and nursing staff in providing care and comfort to infant, toddler, preschool, school-age, adolescent, and young adult patients during outpatient clinic appointments by performing routine clinical and clerical tasks. This role also involves phlebotomy and assisting with the application and removal of casts. This position is per diem, non-exempt, and benefits eligible. Requirements
- Medical Assistant Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience
Responsibilities
- Collect and report data to assist the multidisciplinary team in the evaluation of patient needs
- Performs a variety of comprehensive registration and scheduling functions
- Demonstrate open, accurate and timely communication with patients, families and interdisciplinary team members to ensure effective therapeutic interventions
- Phlebotomy
- Assisting with the application and removal of casts
